Adding to London’s long history of prestigious sports competitions, national quadball teams from around the world will convene to represent their countries and fight at the highest level of the sport for the title of Quadball World Champion.

With incredible experiences and sights on offer, the city will provide a thrilling backdrop for the biggest quadball event of the year. Watch a musical in the West End, stop by one of London’s many iconic pubs for a pint and fish & chips, or take a day trip to one of the easily accessible seaside destinations like Brighton for that post-tournament cooldown.

The IQA and QUK will be looking to learn and build upon the lessons learned at previous events in order to deliver an event the community is proud of and excited to be a part of. With this in mind, the IQA have appointed Matt Bateman as the Tournament Director of the 2027 IQA Quadball World Cup, and we are confident that with his experience and expertise this event will be memorable and enjoyable for all.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be hosting the IQA World Cup in one of the most exciting cities in the world!” said Matt Bateman, QuadballUK Co-Director. “Our facility partners at Barn Elms Sports Centre are equally as excited and eager to help grow awareness of a sport that unapologetically brings the joy of movement and competition to more people.

Players, volunteers and spectators should note the World Cup will be played over three days. Further details will be released in the coming months.

The IQA and QUK would like to acknowledge that concerns about hosting an event in the UK have been raised within the community, particularly in relation to the safety of our trans-gender and gender diverse community members. We would like to assure all potential players, volunteers, officials and spectators that the IQA and QUK is making the safety of our community a top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation in the UK and take necessary measures and actions to ensure the safety of our community. Individuals seeking to better understand the current rights of transgender individuals can visit this website for more information [https://transactual.org.uk/know-your-rights/]. The IQA and QUK will also continue to monitor the discourse and laws concerns the safety of our players within the UK.

Daniel Price Croft, Chair of the Trustees, expressed his cheeky enthusiasm, “I’m excited to be bringing quadball back to the UK capital. Few cities embody the spirit of our sport quite like London: a diverse, vibrant melting pot of nationalities, cultures, and identities. It’s a city that mirrors one of quadball’s defining principles, making it the perfect host for our World Cup. And, let’s face it, this is probably the only way it’s coming home.”
